The ASX200 had a phenomenal run at the start of the year until early August. Then, BOOM! It took a dive with the US markets on the back of the US and China trade wars and all the world markets became very volatile, zigzagging around for a couple of weeks.
But now, the markets have rebounded and starting to move back up. In the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see if it will build its strength again and if we will see the US and Aussie markets power to new highs.

The trade war between US and China triggered traders to panic in the markets last month and caused a short sharp drop that was followed by an increased period of volatility. At times like these, trading can be difficult and it can be hard not to allow the noise in the market to rattle you. That is why it is so important to have faith in your trading plan and this is something that can take time and come from experience.
I’ve traded through all major the market moves over the past 18 years. I experienced the World Trade Center crash in 2001 and I’ve been through the GFC in 2008. I’ve also experienced the wonderful bull markets and the sideways moves in between it all. I have confidence in my trading and my plan and this is all due to my strict risk management and market exposure rules I have set up to handle all sorts of situations in the market.
As we know anything can happen in the market and you need to ensure you are well positioned to take advantage of the good market times and know how to maximise on your profitable trades as well as prepared for when those times change and keep your losses to a minimum.
